Dashain is Celebrated which lasts till 10 days from starting and has a great significance in the Nepali Hindu Community. When it comes to religion and festivals the Hindu People have big religious faith and many festivals than any other religion in the world. Hinduism is followed mainly in only two countries Nepal & India in the month of Ashoj and Kartik. In India, Navratri is celebrated and last till 9 nights from starting. In Nepal, The most important day’s list of Dashain is given below in the list and please read it thoroughly.

First Day: Ghatasthapana

Ghatasthapana is the first day of Dashain in which the Hindu people of Nepal worship the Kalash and the first day of the festival are hereby commenced by worshipping the Kalash.

Seventh Day: Phulpati

Fulpati is the seventh day of the festival where the Gurkhas soldiers are assigned to bring the flower and Pati (Ayurvedic Medicine). The flower is specially ordered from the house of king Prithvi Narayan Shah and brought to the Hanuman Dhoka Temple and this signifies that the seventh day has commenced. Seventh, Eighth, Ninth & Tenth day is the most important day at this festival. Fulpati is celebrated with joy and many people bist to see the Fulpati festival and many high ranking personalities also come to Hanuman Dhoka to see the Fulpati. There is A-Class security given to the people carry the Fulpati from Gorkha to Kathmandu because if there is any mistake in the event then God & Goddess will be very unhappy which is not a good sign so the Fulpati is given good security.

Eighth Day: Maha Asthami

Maha Ashtami is the Eighth Day of the festival in which the Goddess Kali is worshipped and goats and buffaloes are killed to impress the goddess. The eighth night is called Kal Ratri or simply the Dark Night. Government Offices and other institutions are closed from this day. In India, this day is also called as the Durga Ashtami. Maha Ashtami is also the most important day of this festival.

Ninth Day: Maha Navami

Maha Navami is the ninth day of the festival and the Navratri of course and worship of goddess is very much done by the Hindu community, by going to the temples such as Taleju Bhavani and big temples across the country. In thisday, many goats and other animals are killed because in the holy book it is written that the demons whose family were killed try to save themselves by hiding in the animals and a large number of animals are killed. People also do pooja of their vehicles to be safe from accidents throughout the year.

Tenth Day: Vijaya Dashami

The Tenth day of Dashain is the last day and it is also called Vijaya Dashami in this day people go to their relative’s house to take blessings and wear tika from them it is believed that taking blessings in Dashain will help you in near future. In Dashain, they put tika on your forehead and Jamara in top of your ear. There is also a tradition of playing Linge Ping in Dashain as enjoyment.

Dashain & Tihar are the two most important festivals of the Hindu Community of Nepal and it is celebrated with joy in Nepal.
